Chile´s organic sealAll organic agricultural products marketed in Chile or abroad will carry the new Chilean organic label in future. The State Secretary for Agriculture, Claudio Ternicier, and the National Director of the Service for Agriculture and Livestock (Servicio Agricola y Ganadero, SAG), Ángel Sartori, announced this at the organic trade fair Ecoferia de La Reina. The new image brand was presented there and is designed to make it easier for consumers to better recognize national organic products in retail.
All organic products that are subject of the control of SAG must be labeled. SAG is responsible for the National Organic Certification System.
Earlier this year, an equivalence agreement for organic products was signed with the EU. The EU is one of the most important trading partners for organic products from Chile. The agreement considerably facilitates trade.
