BIOFACH CHINA: more successful than ever
· Triple record: more visitors, more exhibitors, more space
· Even more international involvement
The international organic sector met again at the INTEX Exhibition Centre in Shanghai from 22–24 May. The eighth edition of BIOFACH CHINA was the most successful so far: This year 16,755 visitors (2013: 16,235) from all over the world sourced information from 345 exhibitors (2013: 261). This is an impressive 32 per cent more exhibitors than last year. The net space grew from 3,915 (2013) to 4,212 square metres. With exhibiting companies from Austria, Chile, Taiwan, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa and Spain, BIOFACH CHINA was more international than ever in terms of exhibitors. Due to the positive development and the associated increased demand for space, BIOFACH CHINA will move to a new venue in Shanghai. In 2015 it takes place for the first time at the Shanghai World Expo & Convention Center (SWEECC) – from 28–30 May.
Crane Fan, Managing Director NürnbergMesse China: “I am delighted with the great success of BIOFACH CHINA, which shows we are on the right track with this event. It is the most important organic exhibition in the country and an optimum networking platform for the international organic sector. It has strengthened its pole position again this year, and I’m proud of this. Now we are fully committed to planning and developing the 2015 event.”
The exhibitors were also satisfied with the course of BIOFACH CHINA 2014. Positive feedback comes from Amanda Liu, General Editor Organic Lifestyle, in the Taiwanese Pavilion: A total of 12 companies presented their products in our pavilion and we were all besieged by visitors. As pioneer of the Taiwanese organic industry, we looked for a high-quality and highly regarded discussion platform – and we found it in BIOFACH and BIOFACH CHINA. The latter plays a very important role in the Asian organic market and in my opinion is the continent’s best organic exhibition. We’ll obviously be there again in 2015.”
Congress and forums with added value
The “Symposium of Chinese Organic Certification and Trading” celebrated its premiere at this year’s BIOFACH CHINA and attracted great interest. Here traders who import organic products to China or export Chinese organic products received individual help and tips on establishing and cultivating trading relationships.
The “International Organic Food Market and Development Conference” offered added value presentations for players from the international organic sector and delighted the many participants. 25 international experts from research, media and organic agriculture spoke on current organic topics to an audience of 300 and shared their visions of the future for spreading organic agriculture in China and worldwide.
Varied supporting programme rounded off the exhibition
A varied supporting programme was another essential highlight in addition to the congress and symposium. For example, visitors could taste delicious organic food in the “Organic Kitchen” and see for themselves the high quality of the products exhibited at BIOFACH CHINA. The visitors also liked the Selection of the Best Organic Tea of the Year.
NEW: BIOFACH CHINA 2015 moves to another location in Shanghai
BIOFACH CHINA is growing and growing. Due to this positive development of the past years, however, the space available at the INTEX Exhibition Centre is no longer sufficient. The event is therefore moving to a new location in the metropolis of Shanghai. BIOFACH CHINA 2015 takes place in the Shanghai World Expo & Convention Center (SWEECC) from 28–30 May 2015.
